Cooke County Paint Analysis
The raw wood had a clear shellac applied as a primer before the first generation of green was applied. Though not visible in this sample, it can still be seen on other aspects of the window jamb, which were covered over prior to painting, such as the sash stops.
Judging from the condition of the wood, the first generation finish was well sanded and primed with another coat of shellac before the next coat of green. There is no evidence of a stain coat for the exterior which would be visible along the edges between the sash stop and the area where the jamb meets the exterior brick.
The only visible bleed through is the green. The white areas around the edge is a later primer used to consolidate the two previous generations of green. |
